XAVI TO THE PLAYERS AT TODAY'S MEETING

 Xavi Hernandez’s decision to leave Barcelona at the end of the season has sent shockwaves across Catalonia.

A large section of fans were surprised by Xavi’s decision. The shock has also resonated through the Barcelona dressing room as well.

Although some players in the Barça squad may welcome Xavi’s exit come the end of the season, a majority of the stars were extremely affected by the decision.

“I really believe it's the best for everyone, for me, because I'm free from the pressure and you'll be able to play without so much pressure.”

Gavi sheds tears at Xavi’s speech

According to Mundo Deportivo, Gavi was present today in the dressing room during Xavi’s speech.

The report adds that Gavi is one of the players most affected by Xavi’s decision to leave the club this summer. The youngster, after all, found his place in the senior team under the leadership of the Spaniard.

Gavi couldn’t stop himself from shedding tears during Xavi’s meeting with all the players in the dressing room.

Xavi, who received great support from the players during his speech, was instrumental in kickstarting Gavi’s career.

But as things stand, Gavi may not be able to play under Xavi, as the youngster is currently out with a long-term injury.

The midfielder took to social media to share his thoughts on Xavi. “Always to death with you, mister,” he wrote on Instagram.

Other players affected by Xavi’s departure

Gavi was not the only player affected greatly by Xavi’s decision. Joao Cancelo, too, shed tears inside the dressing room.

The Portuguese international also criticised himself for his performance in Barcelona’s defeat to Villarreal.

Another player greatly affected by Xavi’s departure is Jules Kounde, whose house was robbed for the second time on Saturday. Xavi played a key role in bringing the Frenchman to Camp Nou in 2022 and has put great faith in the player.
